Applications Are Now Being Accepted for the 2012 International Development and Education Award (IDEA)

The IDEA program is designed to provide continuing medical education, assist in career development, and help establish strong relationships with leading ASCO members who serve as scientific mentors to each recipient.

The IDEA in Palliative Care (IDEA-PC) has many of the same core elements of IDEA, but with a focus on Palliative Medicine.

Details
These awards provide early-career oncologists from low- and middle-income countries the opportunity to continue their medical education. If selected, you will receive:

• a scientific mentor in the United States or Canada
• an invitation to spend time at your mentor's cancer center
• free registration to the 2012 Annual Meeting
• a 3-year complimentary ASCO Membership, including a subscription to the Journal of Clinical Oncology (JCO)

Online Applications are Open Completed Application Due: January 11, 2012

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the IDEA program, eligible applicants with less than 10 years of experience in the field of oncology must complete an application that includes a personal statement, a letter of recommendation, and a CV. Strongest consideration will be given to candidates who have submitted an abstract for the 2012 ASCO Annual Meeting.

Only online applications will be accepted. All application materials must be submitted in English. Complete details about the application and selection process, award terms, and eligibility requirements are available at www.conquercancerfoundation.org/IDEA.

IDEA and IDEA-PC applications are due January 11, 2012.
